Item #PC65 - Ten CD Set $39.95

To the organ theme of "The Coca Cola Waltz," we are once again carried back to post-war 1947 to join the Naughton's, their friends, and their family in another series of fifteen-minute slices of their daily lives. (And let's not forget those advertisements for Coke, the "Pause That Refreshes," as extolled by announcer Joe King.)

In "Claudia and David" (1946), Robert Young and Dorothy McGuire played the Naughton's in a sequel to their 1943 20th Century Fox success "Claudia."As you may remember from our earlier Premier Collection, after staying a few weeks with Claudia's mother, newlyweds Claudia and David Naughton moved into their own apartment. It was only a small furnished apartment on the third floor with no view, but it was theirs. Claudia set up house, adopted a kitten, learned to cook and learned to drive. As our first volume ended, a new apartment in the same building had become available: an apartment on the twelfth floor...and with a view, too. Finally, they could get their own furniture.

In Volume 2, we celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years with the Naughton's, as well as Claudia's nineteenth birthday. We are there as Claudia announces her pregnancy to David. We share their joy when David is offered a new job and a promotion, too. We also share their heartache as Claudia must face the prospect of saying goodbye to Mama. Midway through these forty consecutive episodes, Claudia and David face the prospect of leaving New York for a new job in Chicago. It's a move that will, for the first time, separate Claudia from her mother and we start to feel the anguish of a young woman who is expecting her first child and has never lived far away from her mother.

The new year of 1948 will bring new surprises into the lives of Claudia and David -- surprises and new possibilities, too. And you'll be there for it all as you listen to another ten weeks' worth of daily episodes in the lives of Claudia, David, Mama, Bertha and Fritz, Roger, Hartley and Julia, and all the other characters you learned to love in Volume 1.

Here is the complete content of this new Premier Collection - all taken directly from original 16" syndication recordings and completely restored for outstanding audio fidelity:
